No Time

I really wish i had more time to blog. I've been in bed with mono all week and I wasn't allowed to get out till I got clearance from my doctor. On top of being sick, my dad is getting deployed this Sunday. I haven't been able to hangout with him because of the mono.

It's going to be tough around here without my dad. My mom now has 20 kids to take care of all by herself. 2 of those kids are newborn babies who requires her attention 24/7. Us older kids are trying our very best to help our mom out. She needs it.

My dad is going to Qatar. It's right above Saudi Arabia, near the Persian Gulf. What he is doing there is all top secret. So he isn't at liberty to tell us anything in detail. But we do know that he is guarding a facility. Thats all we know. We all bought paper and envelopes so that we can write to him everyday.

I love my baby sister and brother. But they take up a lot of time. I haven't been able to get any sleep at all because I help my mom take care of them at night. The most sleep I've gotten this week is an hour to 1.5 hours of sleep. But it's worth it. They are so adorable. I love watching them become aware of their surroundings.

I'll try to blog some more later. Like I said: I have no time.

HE IS HERE!!

9 months ago, my sister got pregnant. And at 7:12 on 10/13/08, she gave birth to a little boy! 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and 19.5 inches long. He is adorable!

To make a very long story short, my sister has asked our parents to adopt him. She says that she can't provide for him the way he needs to be provided for. The baby's father doesn't want to have anything to do with my sister or his baby. So he is out out of the picture.

I really hate it when guys leave their girlfriend or wives at a time they are needed the most. That's just totally cowardly and irresponsible. I know from experience how it feels to be neglected and abandoned by parents. I was adopted by the family that I'm with now. I'm truley blessed to have them for a family. If I could, I would never let a child be neglected. Kids need parents in their lives and I just wish that people would see that today.

I know that its not easy to provide for children. But if my parents can handle 26 kids, dont you think that couples can handle 1 or 2 kids?

I wish I have more time to sit down and blog, but my life is really crazy around here with 2 new babies!!

1 + 1 = ...?

Yesterday, I was helping my 7 year old brother memorize his addition and multiplication tables. He was getting everything right and I was so proud of him! Until...I asked him what 1+1 is. His answer? 11. WHAT?!

I asked him who taught him that and he proudly told me that his teacher taught him. Are you serious? Either his teacher paid the college to graduate her with a teacher's degree, or she was having a bad day. But don't you think that she would have corrected herself?

It was cute the way he so proudly said 11. My other brother, who was doing his homework beside us, started laughing. Then I started laughing.

I think that we all spend so much time worrying and being impatient that we miss the little things that makes us smile. I needed that reminder. My younger siblings tend to bring a smile to my face. They are so innocent, cute, and funny without meaning to be.

My Choice

I wear a ring on my left ring finger because I made a choice and a promise, to my parents, to stay pure until marriage.

People ask me why I would do that and they tell me that it's a stupid move. Is the world so far gone that when a girl wants to stay pure, she gets critizied for it? There are girls in my school, some as young as 13 and 14, who are haing sex on a regular basis. I personally don't think that is morally right, but I can't tell them what to do because it's the choice they made. But what really annoys me, is that they tell everyone what they do in explicit details. Please, keep that to yourselves! I tell them to stop, but they just won't. Any suggestions on what I should do?

I wonder if these girls' boyfriends know that their girlfriends are telling their friends about their sex lives. I think that these girls should concentrate on their school work rather than talking about things that should be private.

I have a boyfriend and he is just a sweetheart! He knows about my choice and the promise I made. He understands because he says that is exactly what he wanted (to stay pure until marriage). I thought that I would never find a guy like him, so I had sworn off guys. But then...he came along.

Some people have it in their head that my parents are making me take the promise. At our house, on our 15th birthdays, our parents ask us if we would like to make a covenant with them. We choose to make the promise to stay pure all on our own.

I wish that the girls at my school (and other places too) would just realize that they don't have to have a race to see who has had sex the most. No girl should ever have to feel like they have to use their body and give themselves away for attention. Girls, y'all are beautiful in your own way, and thats what makes us all unique and special.

(That ring in the picture is not my ring.)

A New Blog

I had to make a whole different blog because my other one didn't work and also because I can't find it anymore. Oh well.
I'll try and update as often as I can, but with school and work, it's hard to find time to sit down and blog.
